- Diabetes Rate 'Doubles' - Research Suggests The study, carried out in conjunction with the World Health Organization, found that the diabetes rate had either risen or stayed the same in virtually every country. Of developed nations, the US had the highest prevalence. The diabetes rate was relatively low in Western Europe.

- Young Man with Type 1 Diabetes No Longer Needs Insulin While on a Diabetic Alkaline Lifestyle A trip to the doctor led to the emergency room where his blood sugar level was nearly 600 and his A1c was 10.7. Chase also tested positive for Islet cell antibodies, GAD antibodies and insulin antibodies. His thyroid test results were also abnormal.
- Roman Boys’ Latest HbA1c Results: It's a Tie! We now have both boys’ latest HbA1c results – they tied! (not that they are competing or anything...) Both boys came in at 4.7. We could not be more pleased.

- Roman Boys' Latest Labs All Normal! Nathan and Gabriel tested negative for 3 different auto-antibodies typically found in people with type 1 diabetes! While this is not a guarantee that they will never develop these antibodies in the future (Nathan had them in the past), it is joyous news to us in our fight against this relentless disease. By the way, their c-peptide, Thyroid panel, HbA1c and Vitamin D levels were all within normal ranges too!
- The Opposite of Prevailing Orthodoxy in Diabetes Treatment There is much research on beta cell regeneration these days. We want to preserve as many of our boys’ beta cells as possible. We believe, like Dr. Bernstein, that blood sugar management together with an alkaline lifestyle are critical components to preserving or even regenerating beta cells. If that means following a healthy lifestyle considered to be outside the mainstream of diabetology, then we do it with resolve.
