Changing Our Taste Buds – Within a few weeks of eating healthier, our taste sensations change such that foods with lower salt, sugar, and fat content actually taste better.
The longer we eat healthier foods the better they taste – this is exciting news! That’s why we encourage people to give healthy eating at least a month. The hope is by then not only do they feel so much better, but also that their taste sensitivity has been boosted such that whole foods-as-grown regain their natural deliciousness.
This short video reviews the science that backs up the claims that taste buds change over time to embrace healthier foods – whole, foods. Processed foods are engineered to overpower the taste buds so that real food does not seem as appetizing. The good news here is that we can regain the ground lost by switching back to real food!
