One Year and 24 Days since the Last Shot of Insulin
We received this inspiring testimony from a family in Kansas. Getting such improvement on Nate’s HbA1c is quite remarkable! This type 1 diabetes family realizes that food matters tremendously for long term health and better living. We thank them for sharing their story of success and hope to other type 1 families around the world. One Year and 24 Days since the Last Shot of Insulin – Wonderful job, Nate and family!!
“It has been ONE year and 24 days since Nate’s last shot of insulin! We are so grateful to the Roman’s for their guidance & continual research in this new territory for those looking for an alternative way to manage their diabetes. Without you, our journey to good health would have a whole other meaning.
“Our lives changed, not just once, with the paralyzing news that our son Nate, had type 1 diabetes, but twice, when he had an allergic reaction to his insulin. It started closing up his throat & ended in a visit to the ER! It was then, when I became resolved to find another route in handling this auto-immune disease. Within 24 hours & countless Google searches later, I found Sally Roman’s story of her two sons with type 1 diabetes & the hope that it IS possible to maintain healthy blood glucose through diet.
“We are happy to see Nate’s progress. His A1c was 11.6 when diagnosed, now 5.6! He has had to make very difficult changes & many sacrifices to be able to reach this level of health, but he realizes these struggles are necessary if he is ever to heal & have a great quality of life…It has been nothing short of a roller coaster, emotionally & physically, this past year, but we are so grateful & blessed for Nate to be in this insulin-free state. We realize it doesn’t last for everyone, or some may need small amounts of insulin to make it through…Whatever the case may be, we are taking it as it comes.
“I am very hopeful Nate will be able to heal, & get to a permanent state of having his tests come back without the type 1 antibodies. Until then, we will continue to do our best with the knowledge and support we have so generously received from the Roman’s!)”
Gratefully & Sincerely Yours, ~Bridget *
