The story this mother tells about her initial experience upon diagnosis is sadly all too common. However, her happy experience with the Health-e-Solutions lifestyle has changed all that. Listen to her story:
“I know from experience diet does matter. My [Type 1 diabetic] boy was diagnosed a year and a half ago. While in the hospital the 350 pound diabetic educator got a call from her diabetic son and it was an emergency call she had to take. This was right after she told me that my 5 year old could eat whatever he wanted – just cover with insulin. Where’s the outrage in that?
“My brother-in-law is an internal medical doctor. He said what the American Diabetic Association is telling people to do will be looked at in twenty years as horrific. Did you know doctors used to say cigarettes weren’t bad for you? “By the mid-1930s, Lucky Strike had some competition. A new advertising campaign for Philip Morris referred to research conducted by physicians. One ad claimed that after prescribing Philip Morris brand cigarettes to patients with irritated throats, “every case of irritation cleared completely or definitely improved.”
“I understand people being suspicious, or even that the Romans are just trying to sell snake oil to desperate parents, but the truth is, it works. My child and plenty others have had substantial results from eating differently. I know some can achieve good results with counting carbohydrates, but for me, my child is very sensitive to food and insulin so the roller coaster was too extreme doing what the hospital said to do.” *
